SOCAR Organized Conference on "Heydar Aliyev's Successful Foreign Policy and Azerbaijan's New Oil Strategy" at ADA University

On December 23, 2023, a conference was held on "Heydar Aliyev's Foreign Policy and Azerbaijan's New Oil Strategy" at ADA University as part of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev."

Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, attended the event along with Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Rovshan Najaf, President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), rectors, students from various universities where lectures were held, and SOCAR volunteers.

Attendees viewed an exhibition dedicated to the centennial of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev before the event started.

At the conference, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was first played, followed by a minute of silence to honor our martyrs.

Later, videos were presented that were dedicated to Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the youth, and SOCAR organized lectures and tours in various universities during the "Year of Heydar Aliyev."

The moderator and vice-rector of ADA University, Fariz Ismayilzadeh, informed us about the international conference, forum, and seminars held at the university in the framework of the "Heydar Aliyev Year."

Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, highlighted that the establishment and strengthening of modern Azerbaijani statehood is closely associated with the name of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. He also emphasized that when the National Leader returned to power by the nation's invitation, the primary directions of the dynamic development of our country were determined.

Hikmat Hajiyev underscored that Azerbaijan, under the wise leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, has undergone comprehensive development and emerged as a powerful and victorious country. This progress is attributed to the political course of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

President’s assistant highlighted that Azerbaijan's foreign policy is based on national interests, international legal norms, and pragmatic and realistic principles. This approach enables Azerbaijan to develop cooperative relationships with other nations and positions us as a leading state in the region.

Emin Amrullayev, the Minister of Science and Education, discussed the Great Leader's development concept, which aims to strengthen human capital by creating highly qualified personnel. The Minister emphasized that the government is implementing large-scale reforms and state programs to develop science and education, improve their material and technical infrastructure, introduce a modern education system, and create an innovative infrastructure based on advanced technologies.

Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR, has announced that the new energy strategy, which the Great Leader defined with wisdom, foresight, and precision, will serve as the basis for the comprehensive development of our country. The strategy focuses on developing competitive human capital, which marks the beginning of a new stage of progress in Azerbaijan. He mentioned that the successful execution of this plan necessitates the participation of global energy companies in the growth of Azerbaijan's oil and gas reserves, the expansion of transportation routes for crude oil and gas, the efficient management of revenues, the reinforcement of competitive human resources, and the entry of Azerbaijan into a new developmental phase.

Rovshan Najaf also stated that President Ilham Aliyev prioritized inclusive development, strengthened the military, and gained significant international influence. This led to rapid growth in all sectors, including oil and gas, making Azerbaijan the leading state in the region and a reliable energy supplier.

The president of SOCAR stated that Azerbaijan's participation in strategically essential energy projects initiated by the country has increased its economic power and strengthened its position in international markets.
